Description

Carol and Peter Gabor warmly invite you to join them in their home on Sunday, March 25th, 2018, at 3:00 pm, for a very special house concert featuring Yavneh's very own Cantor Karen Kumin, accompanied by keyboardist/composer Michael Pelz-Sherman.

This intimate program, limited to just twenty guests, will offer a selection of Broadway classics, featuring such composers as Victor Herbert, Rodgers and Hart, George Gershwin, and Cole Porter. Refreshments will be served, including pastries from the Raleigh French Bakery, along with soft drinks, wine, and beer.

This is an opportunity to support Yavneh while enjoying a unique chance to see and hear another side of Cantor Karen -- in addition to her Cantorial training and ordination, Karen has a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from Temple University, and has performed in various theater and opera productions, including Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Gondoliers and Patience, Verdi’s Aida, and J. Strauss’s The Gypsy Baron. (See Karen's bio here.)

Michael Pelz-Sherman, has been performing professionally on piano, organ, synthesizers and percussion since the age of 16, and has played rock and jazz clubs throughout the country. He currently resides in Cary where he teaches piano and performs regularly with his jazz trio MPS Trio, the North Carolina Jazz Ensemble, and acoustic soul duo The Lounge Doctors. (See Michael's bio here.)

A donation of $90 per person is requested. If you have any questions, please contact Carol at (919) 845-6446 or cargabor@gmail.com. All monies received will go to benefit future Yavneh programming.
